Bonnie Taylor
Artist Bio & Statement
A self-directed artist since the 70s, Bonnie Taylor paints as an abstract expressionist, with formal training in the history of art at the Sorbonne and institute catholic in Paris. She maintains a home studio in Winnipeg and at her Interlake farm. As an artist she believes that understanding our links to art history informs our creative process and carries us beyond what is today into what could be. She favors a saturated color palette to capture the energetic tension between line and color.
Bonnie keeps art very close to her heart, and enjoys the company of other artists, workshops, exhibiting, attending and delivering art history educationals. She is a member of the Charleswood Art Group, Local Colour Art Group, serves as a docent at the Winnipeg Art Gallery and as a coordinator for the Art Appreciation discussion Group of WAG Associates.
Inducted to MSA in 2010, Bonnie Taylor has served multiple terms as president of the Manitoba Society Of Artists. She continues to serve on the Manitoba Open Juried Show (OJCE) committee, MSA Art history conference committee and is MSA Curator of the Piano Nobile Gallery.
